My nephew Ben is a film editor and he asked if I would go with him to the Cape Cod Filmmaker Takeover. It’s today, most of today, at the Julie Harris Stage in Wellfleet. The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater is producing it. Yes, that’s THE Julie Harris. Ms. Harris has lived on Cape Cod for many years and has been extremely supportive of young actors and artists. She has performed in many local productions. But getting back to this weekend’s film festival.
17 films will be shown today and tomorrow. According to the WHAT website, “There will be shorts, features, comedies, dramas, documentaries, live action and an animated short.” I love going to stuff like this. The film makers are all there and their families and friends. And everyone is always so excited. I know first-hand the amount of work that goes into just a 10-minute short film and how much it costs financially.
It’s only $5 for a day pass.
Cape Cod also has the Provincetown Film Festival, The Woodshole Film Festival, and I also think that there is the Nantucket Film Festival.
